With an incredible wedding season set in our sights for 2020; it’s with a great deal of sadness that I have received so many messages for wedding rescheduling. There is nothing I love more than a bright and early start to the weekend during the summer months; coffee in hand, hair and makeup kit ready to go and pulling up to some of the most beautiful venues Yorkshire and Lancashire has to offer. It’s without a doubt a highlight in my job, to ensure each and every one of my Brides and her Bridal party has a relaxed morning and feels as gorgeous as ever for their wedding day. I thoroughly enjoy meeting all the new people along the way, including the venue staff and all the fabulously talented suppliers too.
As many couples have been faced with changing the date of their wedding, and dealing with the difficult situation of contacting each of their suppliers; not knowing how straight forward the process will be, I’ve ensured that we’ve made our rescheduling procedure simple and easy. We have currently been able to accommodate all the new dates our Brides have given us, there have been no additional charges or extra fees and we have helped Brides decide on a new date for their trial.
Along with the adaptations we have made; it’s really exciting and positive to see how other small businesses have adapted too. Finding new ways to cater for their clients, making sure they still receive the services they require. For example; Every Cloud Cakes & Bakes now offer a treat box allowing couples to taste and choose their wedding cake at home during lockdown (I mean any excuse to eat cake!!), Vanessa at Wildflowers has been delivering plants, veg boxes and flowers locally.
The situation that our country has been put in over the past two to three months has not been ideal for anyone and we have all had to overcome new challenges in may ways. And the wedding industry in particular has and is suffering dramatically; we can only hope and stay positive for 2021.
I know that they’ll be many Bride and Grooms this year that will no longer be able to work with their initial chosen wedding suppliers due to possibly being unavailable or perhaps additional fees but there are also a large number of wedding suppliers that have lost a multitude of bookings and potentially their annual income. In an attempt to assist both couples and suppliers I want to offer a list of contacts to share with you and hopefully make this whole experience a little easier for everyone.
