An Introduction to Nimue

Posted on 9th October 2019

It seemed only fitting to focus this months post on Nimue, following a fantastic day spent with some of the Nimue team and other Nimue Pro’s at the Sweet Squared Nimue Inspiration Roadshow, where I was most certainly inspired.

I was first introduced to Nimue back in April, and at the time had no idea how incredible their skin technology is and how life changing it would be for my own skin. Having suffered and been treated for Acne most of my teenage and 20’s life, I fully appreciate how important good and healthy skin can be. When your skin looks and feels great, you feel great! It can be so influential on your confidence, self-esteem and general day-to-day mood. But since using Nimue I’ve not looked back and I’ve never had results quite like it (even if the occasional evening I am a little too tired to bother). I still thoroughly enjoy and look forward to using all my home skincare both day and night.

Nimue is the first Derma-cosmeceutical range, (dermal improvement, cosmetics, pharmaceutical like benefits) and unlike other well-known cosmetic brands it’s simple 3 phase system works! It was developed in 1994 by a plastic surgeon in search of products that would induce dermal change, healing and most importantly long-term skin health. Nimue’s skin technology concentrates on dealing and resolving the cause of your skin concerns not the symptom. This is demonstrated through their 4 main principles; rejuvenation, restoration, anti-oxidants and sun protection.

What stood out to me the most, from both a personal and professional perspective were the points of difference. I was very happy to hear that they don’t test on animals and all products and treatments are safe for women who are pregnant and breast-feeding. I was also pleased to know that there are no artificial fragrances, lanolin, mineral oils or granules in the range and they use only the highest quality ingredients for optimal skin health improvement. One of my favourite differences is their refill system, not only is this great for the environment but makes several of their products way more cost effective.

Nimue is suitable for all skin types, whether you have concerns such as; fine lines, wrinkles, uneven skin tone, oiliness, dryness, acne or roseacea (redness), you’ll find a classification to suit you. Their unique triple Alpha Hydroxy Acids (AHA’s) promotes maximum stimulation with minimum irritation. This combination of lactic, glycolic and citric acid all hydrate, rejuvenate, lighten and brighten the skin. And I can certainly vouch for that; my skin has continually glowed whilst using Nimue. I was recently asked what foundation I use, and my response was none!! Although as a makeup artist my love for makeup wont change, I now realise that spending more time and money on my skincare means I spend less time and money on my makeup and naturally have great looking, healthy skin!
